Hausa natural resources only tutorial

In this tutorial I am going to explain how to play Hausa in a very reliable way.

Alliances

Age II

In Age II you age up with Berbers. You can make a few more villagers that gather faster from natural resources. Also in the long term you get to make Berber camel riders that are good against cavalry and you can send 10000 gold salt mine over and over. The salt mine is gathered slower but you can send shipments that increase gold gathering.

Age III

In Age III you age up with Hausa. You get to make Kingdom builders for 400 influence. The first two kingdom builders you can make into Town Centers and then place a University and Palace near them.

Usually you place the Town Centers to a gold mine or a trading post.
Later you can even research two technologies from the university that lets you build towers with kingdom builder. Vision on the map is very valuable in the middle and later stages of the game.

Age IV

In Age IV you can age up with Fulani to increase the influence generation further. You can build 3-4  markets with Hausa builder or with a settler. Then you make goats. You also get to improve the Fulani archers if you are using them.
Alternatively you can age up with Akan, for some native units and one time technology that ships 5000 gold mine and increases gold gathering by 10%.

Age V

In Age V you can age up with Yoruba for the extra native units. You will have a lot of influence generation and these units don't cost population and get an automatic upgrades.

Alternatively you can age up with the British for the heavy cannons but they are pretty slow to make, slow to move and cost population. With the British you also get an arsenal building with the basic arsenal technologies in it.

The Deck

Order of shipments:

Age I

1. 3 villagers
2. Pulaaku code(15% natural resources gather rate increase)

Age II

1. University of Timbuktu (1 university that researches faster)
2. Palace of Amina (1 palace and some influence tokens)

Crossing festival, Silversmith or Gaananci.

You can send any of these according to the way the game is going. At this point you might be pressured with some early attacks so you should have some army ready.

Age III

1. 8 cattle +1 livestock market
2. Suya skwers (35% gather rate on cattle and hunts
3. Massina Madhrasas(30% gold and wood gather near Universities.)
4.Hadejia Emirate(Cheaper and faster upgrades for Raiders and Lifidi Knights)

Age IV

1. Habanaya (A very strong shipment that grants 5000 influence on average if you have 20 cattle. You can buy artillery, mercenaries or natives)
The order of the rest of the shipments is whatever the game requires.

Army Composition

Hausa has some excellent units at their disposal. The standard army is Lifidi Knight and Natives with some Field guns or mortars. Alternatively you can switch to a Javelin riders and Fulani Archers if the opponent is using too much Hand or Range cavalry.

Another great thing about Hausa is that you get most of your units produced from one building and their upgrades grouped together (Lifidi and Raider share upgrades and Javelin Riders and Fulani Archers).

The other boost that the Hausa get is that the native warriors and artillery get upgraded automatically every time you age and this gives you a huge incentive to age up as early as possible and take advantage of this.

Alternatively you can put shipments for Maigadi and build them as a core unit. Maigadi get's automatically upgraded with every Age up as well.

General Strategy

So what is the general idea of this deck?

With this deck you focus on gathering only natural resources and expanding your base quickly in Age 3
with Kingdom builders
.
The weakness is if you get pressured too much in Age 2 but once you set up your "Kingdoms" (TC, University, Palace, Trade post) it becomes significantly easier to build units and push.
The Kingdom builders and Hausa builders are great. Using wagons to expand is much more quicker.

The ability to exchange cattle for gold or wood is also one of the strong abilities of this civilization.

Also you can technically use only natural resources for a good amount of time since you can send 10000 gold over and over and you can gather the cattle when needed for food.

You can afford to have your units over the map since you have a shipment and a technology that increases the health of villagers.
